Browse through the data
-
On the left side are some elements for browsing through the data (forward and backward). There are three properties to browse in ascending or descending order: 'EWC code', 'Basel code' and 'OECD code'.
- Browsing forward by each field gives the data sorted alphabetically by this property. So browsing forward by the field 'EWC code' gives the data sorted alphabetically by the EWC code.
- The Browsing function is turning around continuously:
- Browsing forward after the last data set, again the first data set is to be shown (separated by an empty data set).
- Browsing backward beyond the first data set, again the last data set is loaded (separated by an empty data set).
- Thereby the easiest way to jump directly to the last data set (regarding the alphabetical order of the current browsing field)
is to browse back from the empty page (empty data set).
- To clear the form and jump to the empty start page (empty data set), use the button in the upper left corner.
-
Browsing from a given start position:
Before browsing, the corresponding entry field can be filled with the starting point for browsing.
Then the browsingjumps to the first data set which has the corresponding property starting with the given phrase (case insensitive).
Examples:
- Example 1: Inserting 15 to the entry field "EWC code" and browsing forward jumps to the first data set, which has a waste code starting with 15.
- Example 2: Inserting B into the enty field "Basel Code" and browsing forward jumps to the first data set with the Basel Code starting with B.
- Example 3: If the data base holds no data where the selected field starts with the given phrase, the next following data set in alphabetical order will be loaded.
Loading data set with given EWC code
- Into the field 'EWC code' the waste code can be inserted
EWC code -
With the (Enter)-Key from the keyboard or the browsing button
the first data set with that EWC code will be loaded.
-
Again with
can be browsed back and forth.
Using the full text search
-
The full text serch function is placed within the header in the upper right corner:
- The search function shows all data sets containing at least one of the given words as a word or as part of a word in any field. The search term can be within any property(field) of the data set including the EWC chapter and EWC group
-
After entering the search-term, the search can be started by pressing the Search-button.
Then, on the right side of the button, the result is shown like this:
-
When the search term contains several words or parts separated by a blank space, all data sets are found, which contain at least one of these words ('OR'-operation):
-
Attention: when searching for an 'EWC code', it must be entered without inner blanks:
Showing Mirror Entries
-
The dropdown field 'mirror entry' shows the corresponding mirror entries for the current data set:
mirror entry -
Showing the description of the mirror entry:
The mirror entry dropdown list shows the EWC description of the mirror entries.
While the mouse cursor is on a mirror entry, the description is also shown as a tool tip. This might be useful when the description is going beyond the dropdown width.
At the end of each mirror entry is shown, if the data base holds a data set for that mirror entry. -
Loading the mirror entry:
If there is a data set available for the mirror entry, this is marked at the end of the line and the color of the line is set to blue.
In this case, by selecting the entry from the dropdown list, the data set is loaded.
Showing a list of all entries
- From the menu the option "List" opens a new window with a list of all entries contained in the waste data base (PopUps must be enabled in the browser configurations for the window to open).
- From the list, by clicking on a column heading, the list will be sorted alphabetically by this property (alternately ascending or descending).
- By clicking on the EWC code (the left column of each entry), the corresponding data set will be loaded.
